My enjoyment of Art is a way to support Hertfordshire ME/CFS Support group and other organisations groups by donating all sales to the chosen charity or community group. I got back into art after attending some sessions at my M.E Group. One of our members Vijay, who is an established artist and teacher, led some classes at our group and my interest in art was reignited. I had done nothing since school except doodling on any surface possible. I then went on to do an arts on prescription course which was great fun and H'arts in mind

I enjoy experimenting with different mediums and found I enjoy using inks and paints in a way that can be unpredictable. This challenges the urge to strive for perfection and become more comfortable with letting go. This is so theraputic, creating freedom and space to be more fluid and experimental.
I have ME/CFS which means I have to pace myself. In my pre ME/CFS life I trained as a dancer. I have always felt a bit awkward and shy when it comes to speaking up so dance gave me freedom to share in a non verbal way. But now art has allowed me to express myself in another way.
I would encourage anyone to have a go and get creative x
